Your receipt
Wynncliff, Inc. is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We email a receipt once your gift has actually settled, which is usually within a few minutes for a card. It states the amount, the date and the fund you chose, and it is the document to keep for your taxes.
A gift is credited to the tax year in which it was charged, not the year we deposited it — so a gift made in late December belongs to that December.
Refunds
A donation is a gift, so we do not ordinarily refund one. But mistakes happen, and we would far rather fix one than keep money you did not mean to give. If you were charged twice, entered the wrong amount, or did not intend to give at all, write to us and we will refund it. Please do so promptly — a card refund becomes harder to process after a few months.
If we refund a gift in full, we will also email you a correction withdrawing the receipt, so your records stay accurate.
Recurring gifts
A monthly or annual gift repeats automatically until you stop it, and you receive a receipt each time it is charged. To change the amount or stop it, reply to any of those receipts, or write to us. A person reads it and will confirm. There is no waiting period and we will not ask you why.
If your card expires or is replaced, the charge will fail and we will be in touch rather than quietly letting your support lapse.
Designating your gift
You choose which fund your gift supports, and we honor that choice — it is recorded with the gift and carried through into our accounts.
You may also add 3% to cover the payment processing fee, so that Wynncliff receives the full amount you intended. That is optional and the added amount is part of your gift.
Camp fees and book purchases
These are not donations and are not tax-deductible, so they do not receive a charitable receipt. Refunds for a camp fee follow the terms of that camp's registration.
